ILTER  member networks are mostly national networks of scientists engaged in long-term, site-based ecological (LTER) and socio-ecological research (LTSER). They have expertise in the collection, management and analysis of long-term environmental data. Together they are responsible for creating and maintaining a large number of unique long-term datasets. 

Currently, ILTER encompasses 39 member networks which together operate more than 750 sites.
